The Best Academy Debating & Public Speaking Society fosters persuasive argumentation, rhetorical poise, and nuanced critical analysis among students across all academic levels.
Utilizing British Parliamentary and World Schools debate formats, the society examines urgent contemporary topics spanning international relations, artificial intelligence ethics, climate economics, and educational equity.
Key Activities
- Weekly Parliamentary Debates: Intensive motion rounds with timed floor rebuttals and adjudication feedback.
- Model United Nations (MUN): Simulating multilateral diplomacy, resolution drafting, and international negotiation.
- Oratorical Workshops: Voice modulation, stage presence, impromptu speaking, and speechwriting masterclasses.
Structure & Leadership
The society is led by senior debaters alongside a faculty debate patron. Membership welcomes both novice speakers wishing to overcome stage anxiety and experienced debaters preparing for inter-school cups.
